Warning: This blog post may have you swaying in your Herman Miller Aeron Chair, head bobbing back and forth like a hyphy teenie bopper at a Justin Bieber private concert, twirling like Elin Nordegre after she gets half. Proceed with caution.
“I listen to music every day, a lot of jazz – Dexter Gordon and Sonny Rollins. I also like Jay-Z and Beyoncé. I have an analog stereo that was hand built in Japan by a guy who makes a few systems a year. The aural experience is mind-blowing. Music helps me when I’m coding, which is still my priority. When you’re coding, you really have to be in the zone. I’ll listen to a single song, over and over on repeat, like a hundred times.”

Word Matt, word.
At the company, it is imperative we are in the zone while we are performing data entry and consistent maintenance of client system backends, link-building, processing new products through efficient quality assurance (QA) to name a few of our BPO services.
We go through countless lines of spreadsheet data, opening and closing tabs and browser windows like nobody’s business. The blazing click-clack of keyboards at the company almost becomes a hymn slowly pulling us towards a Matrix of our own making. To channel Michael Franti, we prefer to “Stay Human” and audio/music remains that (Inception) kick to make sure the top stops spinning at the end our dreams, as the metaphor goes.
Jennifer Yi (QA Supervisor) “listen[s] to TED, www.live365.com for pop, YouTube playlist for Korean music, and the random songs that Mark sends over.”
David Tang (Operations Manager) streams ESPN.
The Top 100 Breakup Songs are for Leanne Tran (QA Supervisor): http://bit.ly/aPxPtf
My Phan (QA Supervisor) “listen[s] to a list of Vietnamese ghost stories – all of Nguyen Ngoc Ngan’s stories.”
For Abigail Stratton (Project Supervisor): “ADULT CONTEMPORARY, ‘nuff said.”
